Jersey’s first Thinkbox seminar to take place this month


Thinkbox, the marketing body for commercial TV in the UK, will be hosting an exclusive seminar in Jersey later this month.

The seminar, which has been organised by Creative Jersey in association with Channel Television, will see two industry experts present to more than 100 local businesses.

Mike Elsey, Managing Director, Commercial, Channel Television, commented:
‘I am delighted that local businesses will have the opportunity to access the advice of the Thinkbox professionals.  There has been much speculation regarding advertising spends and budgets over the last two years, particularly talk of declining spends in both broadcast and print media in favour of the internet.  Recent research collated by emarketer.com would suggest that online advertising has now inched its way past TV advertising in the UK with 23.5% market share to TV’s 21.9%.  The trends suggest that marketers are now allocating some of their budget to online advertising which compliments both their TV and print campaigns.  The seminar should help local businesses to identify the options they have for their marketing strategies for 2010 and beyond.’

Thinkbox is the marketing body for commercial TV in the UK, in all its forms. Its shareholders include Channel 4, Five, GMTV, ITV, Sky Media, Turner Media Innovations and Viacom Brand Solutions, which represents over 90% of commercial TV advertising revenue through their owned and partner TV channels.  Thinkbox works with the marketing community with a single ambition; to help advertisers get the best out of today’s TV. Thinkbox was launched in February 2005.

Two senior representatives from Thinkbox, David Brennan, Research and Strategy Director and Zoe Fuller, Planning Manager, will be on hand to advise Jersey’s businesses as to how they can use both existing and new technology to meet their marketing objectives.  Their 90-minute presentation will take place at The Royal Yacht on 12th November. Topics will include understanding how audiences engage with TV advertising, explaining innovative and affordable solutions and providing the rigorous proof of effectiveness that advertiser’s need.
