The company was formed in 2004 by the current directors in collaboration with the principal of a Jersey ‘first-mover’ e-commerce company which now enjoys a turnover of several £millons. OIS therefore have a strong commercial, design and technical background, and has become one of the leaders in open source solutions on Linux systems for e-commerce. OIS maintain a strong and proven team of independent designers, code-writers and technicians in the Channel Islands, UK and USA which ensures that we do not have a large administrative overhead, or are prone to problems associated with staff turnover.
OIS do not use commercial templates of any kind. We prefer to build sites from the floor up to our own design, code structures, page sequences, ‘math models’ and procedural considerations specific to individual clients needs and product/service type. Clients are also provided with the award winning C-Panel suite to enable them to manage their webmail/email accounts, spamming control, site traffic analysis, viral e-marketing and user levels, as part of our philosophy of ‘self –enablement’
The jerseyhosting division of OIS maintains its own hosting servers and name servers on an ‘internet backbone’ which provides a considerable bandwidth advantage, and ensures the absolute minimum downtime.
